Dairy Free Chocolate Chips

Yikes! I just placed my regular order for Barry Callebaut Chocolate chips from the Allergy Grocer and I nearly fell out of my chair when she told me the price. "I have to warn you, the price has gone up...way up" the phone rep told me. I just paid $10.00 a pound (includes shipping) for chocolate chips! I'm going to have to ration out these chips, maybe 2-3 per cookie. Anyone have a more reasonable source for quality dairy-free chocolate chips?

How about Enjoy Life Food's chocolate chips? They sell them at most of the online allergy stores. For example, PeanutFreePlanet has them for $3.49 per bag + shipping. You can also check out Divvies' chocolate chips to see how they're priced these days.

Thanks. I'll look into both of these. I must admit, as a chocoholic myself, I'm all about the flavor- even more than the price. I've tried some other dairy-free chips in the past and found them waxy or lacking in chocolate flavor. I was willing to pay more for the delicious Barry Callebaut chips, but I think $10 a pound has exceeded my threshold! I'll keep you posted on my quest for a dairy-free chip full of flavor and value.
